If you loved one has irrreversible dementia, she will not able to do things today that she couldn't do yesterday. She will propably be even less capable tomorrow. Acknowledging the situation, changing your expectations, and accepting these harsh realities is extraordinarily painful, but it is the only way to reduce the frustration, find new ways to deal with her, prepare for what lies ahead, and appreciate whatever you still have.
